Milton Finch, who preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing, her children: daughter, Bobbie Cousin; sons, Milton Finch Jr. (Gola), James Finch, and Alexander Finch (Carolyn); Jackie Finch (Lynda) and one daughter who preceded her in death, Elizabeth Cheatham (Thomas); 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ted Sullivan Hannah New York City Ted Sullivan Hannah, 58, formerly of Jackson and Forest, died Sunday, October 27, 2002, at his home in New York City. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2002, at Ott Lee Funeral Home in Forest. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. preceding the service.

A native of Morton, Mr. Hannah was the son of the late R.O. and Bertha Hannah of Forest, both of whom died in 2001. Two brothers, Ray of Fairburn, GA. and Tom of Spartanburg, S.C.; six nephews, and one niece survive him.

A graduate of Newton High School, he attended East Central Junior College and graduated with a journalism degree from the University of Southern Mississippi's School of Communications. In a 1978 "Reminiscing with the Editor" column about the Hannah family, which appeared in the Scott County Times, Erle Johnston, editor wrote, "I guess I remember Ted the had a bright personality and was wandering all over the park when he was just a few years old. He could swim about the time he learned to walk. Mr. Hannah began his career as a writer with the Jackson Daily News and served as state news editor.

During this time, he also worked as a correspondent for the Associated Press and the London Times. He left journalism to become director of the public information for Mississippi Educational Television Network in 1971. In addition to his publicity duties there, he produced 24 programs in the series. "A Conversation He moved to New York City in 1973. That year, he created Brass Monkey, a game sold by Heublein as a merchandising tie-in-for its canned drink, Brass Monkey.

The game later received national distribution through department stores. Mr. Hannah joined King Hearst Corporation in 1974 as assistant public relations director and, in 1979, was promoted to publicity manager. In 1980, he moved to Omni to direct the magazine's publicity efforts, but returned to King Features in 1981 as director of advertising and public relations. He retired in 1999.

Throughout his 25 year career with The Hearst Corporation unit, Mr. Hannah created publicity campaigns to promote King Features' cartoonists and writers, frequently on a worldwide basis. In the 1980s', Mr. Hannah was instrumental in the creation of Olive Oyl as the first female balloon in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. He created the campaign that brought Betty Boop back into visibility and directed the global publicity to celebrate Blondie's entry into the work force after 60 years as a housewife.

Mr. Hannah was also responsible for King Features' advertising program, and he created special events for the New York City-based company including receptions with concerts by stars such as Tony Bennett, Vic Damone, and Mel Torme. The syndicated columnist Heloise credited Mr. Hannah as being one of her "guidance counselors." Long-time friend and ETV colleague Jeanne Luckett of Florence recalls, Mr. Hannah's support for New Stage Theatre and other cultural organizations and events in Jackson.

"Ted was one of the funniest, most creative people I have ever known. When he left Mississippi for New York, a lot of talent left the state. But, he never lost touch with home. He came to see his parents and friends as often as work permitted. He also loved to host Mississippians visiting New York," Mrs.

In high school he letRogers tered in track and football. In 1959 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in the French Morocco. He was a tail gunner on a B-52 bomber and served in the K-9 Division of the Military Police. He also served with the Military Intelligence and was assigned to guard Air Force One and the President of the United States.

He was an avid fisherman, artist, and master craftsman. He enjoyed training animals and talking with people throughout the world on his C.B. radio. He adored his wife, children, and grandchildren. He had been attending St.

Richard Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his brother, David William Rogers; sister, Jackie D. Rogers, and his parents, James and Tad Rogers. He is survived by his wife, Margie A. Rogers of Jackson; sons, Thomas Allen Rogers, Jr.

and wife, Heather of Pearl and James W. Rogers of Clinton; daughters, Suzanne R. Callahan and husband, Steve of Madison, TerriL. Rogers of Byram, and Dianna M. Rogers of Jackson, and sisters, Barbara Nau and Peggy Monahan of Brookhaven.

He has been a resident of Jackson since 1959, moving here Fayette, Ala. He was a World Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy and the National Guard retiring as Chief Warrant Officer 4. He was a member of the American Legion, Post One, the 40-ET-8 Honor Society, the VFW Military Order of the Cooties Honor Society, and The Northpark Ridgeland Lions Club. He was president of the Mississippi Chapter of the Blind Veteran's Association, and a long time volunteer at the VA Hospital.

Mr. Patterson loved music and was the band leader, MC, singer, and drum player of the Jets Combo Band. They entertained in as many as 20 nursing homes a month.
